GM Diet

GM DIET, that is much like a loose weight right now type of diet, and guarantees overnight results. I wanted to try this GM diet out for a long time. I did try it out once but I quit that on the 2nd day.
This diet is a 7 day diet and involves some radical changes to your eating habits. Hence its difficult to go through with it for 7 whole days.

Recently my confidante asked me about this GM Diet, I told her its very tough and it would be be fruitful only if done with a diet-partner. Ofcourse I agreed to support my confidante without hesitation, and we were on our way to lose 4 kilos in a week. Yeah that's how much we ended up losing at the end of it. Also I ended up losing a bit of muscle.

Its not only a weight loss diet but also its a detoxifying diet. It was started initially by General Motors Company because they were concerned about their overweight/obese employees, and something had to be done. Now it has become so famous that it known by the name GM Diet all around the world.

Preparing for this is the easiest! all you need to do is buy all kinds of fruits and vegetables (of course I will be providing the details down below) And you would need to drink a hell lot of water as this diet has various effects on the body.

Day 1  - Eat as much fruits as you can except bananas (i know some of you don't like them)
Day 2  - Eat as much Vegetables as you can, Potatoes and Sweet Potatoes only for breakfast.
Day 3  - Eat as much fruits and Vegetables as you can, but no Bananas or Potatoes.
Day 4  - Banana and Skimmed Milk day. Also you can have vegetable soup.
Day 5  - Protein Day! Get your lean source of protein from chicken or turkey or beef, also soups are allowed, if you are vegetarian then you can have tofu, cottage cheese and brown rice.
Day 6  - Again Vegetable day, but you can have lean source of protein and soups too.
Day 7  - Brown Rice, Vegetables and Fruits. You can munch on dry fruits.

And when I say Vegetables, make sure you include greens. Also no potatoes during this diet except for Day 2 breakfast. No drink other than water must be consumed.
This is just a rough outline of what you can eat, for complete details, you can visit http://www.gmdietworks.com/ . Its a neat simple site that we used for reference.

Its very very important that you don't get back to your regular food habits once you get done with this. You might end up gaining more weight than you have lost. I would suggest that you go on a clean diet once you get done with this.

Must say it was not the easiest of the Diets but since it was just a week long and guaranteed results, I had to try it. AND IT WORKS! But don't take my word for it, try it yourself.

Intermittent Fasting

I think I would be the right person to talk about Intermittent Fasting, since I have actually done it and experienced all its effects.
I was doing Intermittent Fasting a while back and found that it does work! Maybe for some people it might not work since all of us have different genetics.
I have seen all over the internet that, people think Intermittent Fasting is a joke and its bad and it makes u starve and its bad. But that is not really the case. Traditional diet plans are based on the principle of eating small meals every 2 hours, so people think doing a 16 hour fast is completely mental. I thought the same when I read 16 Hours without food! That is ridiculous!!!
But the I later realized, I have been doing more or less 12 hour fast unknowingly, so all I had to do is push my breakfast time a bit late and the dinner time a bit early. So there it was a 16 hour Fast and 8 hour Eating window.
If you see, out of the 16 hours fast, you spend 8 hours sleeping, so it breaks down to 8 hour eating window, 8 hour sleep and 8 hour fast. Which is very much manageable.

There have been studies on Intermittent Fasting and there has been proof of Intermittent Fasting actually working, whereas there is no proof of the eating every 2 hours method of actually working.
If I start stating the benefits of IF then I would be purely quoting Wikipedia.

The Fat cells in our body cannot burn fat at the same time as storing food, so restriction to the 8 hours of eating gives the body a clear digestive track for the remaining 16 hours to burn off the stored glucose and fats for energy.
Its very important to drink plenty of water during the fasting phase. Alternatively you can also drink 0 calorie drinks like black coffee or green tea without sugar or maybe even diet coke if you cant control yourself.

I did intermittent fasting purely for fat loss, I have not tried it for bulking.
Its necessary to keep the protein intake up to the mark so that you don't end up losing muscle tone. Always remember to have a high protein breakfast.
I ended up losing 3% body fat, which was 15.5% to 12.5%. When you go for long hours without eating anything, the insulin levels in your body drop. And Growth Hormone levels increase. Insulin and Growth hormone can not coexist at the same time in your body. And as we know, we need growth hormone more.
and Intermittent Fasting does precisely that. It improves your  Growth Hormone levels and also regulates Insulin. So lesser chances of getting diabetes.
Intermittent Fasting is not a DIET, its a way of eating food. I referred to this book called Renegade Diet by Jason Ferreugia. It helped to to decide what to eat when to eat. This book has all kinds of diet standard and non-standard diet combinations.
And also they have mentioned what exactly Jason Ferrugia did about his diet.

Lee Labrada's Lean Body Trainer Review

Lee Labrada's 12 week Lean Body Trainer Progress.

So this is the my first blog of 2013. I hope everyone are having a good new year and sticking to your new year resolution that you have made...hopefully..
Just like everyone else even I wanted to make a new year resolution, but I wasn't sure what to do, so I ended up planning to get even more ripped. :P

I started the year with Lee Labrada's 12 week Lean body Trainer which I found on bodybuilding.com. Now the reason why I chose this workout plan was because, my training partner wanted to get lean, and I wanted to get leanER, or maybe just maintain my present body.
So we started off, with the plan, and I was really impressed with the workout variations, because every week you are doing something new, so your body doesn't really get to stabilize. You are constantly challenging your body and keep it guessing throughout the training days.
Now this trainer doesn't really have off days. On your off days you at least do 30 minutes of cardio.

Another good thing about this trainer is that, there is a meal plan included as well as the recipes.
Now currently I am 2 weeks into this program and already feeling better about myself. I will be tracking the progress under workout journals on blog.
